The 25 Tree Project
Our connection to nature is fundamental.
From the ground we walk on to the products we purchase, our actions resonate throughout the environment.
We'd like to run this business in a way that’s harmonious with the world we inhabit.
Together with our partners at the Eden Reforestation Projects, we plant 25 trees for each order we fulfill.
These trees are planted across a number of countries, in the communities that need them most.
Here's how the program works...
The Problem:
An unsustainable relationship between the land and the people.
The regions most impacted by deforestation are poverty-stricken and underdeveloped.
With few options to support their families, some must destroy their local environment to survive. This includes cutting down trees for construction, fuel, heat, and agriculture.
While this solves a short-term problem, consequences arise in the form of flooding, erosion and desertification.
In the long-term, deforestation lead to environmental devastation.
The Solution:
An "Employ to Plant" methodology.
It’s essential that reforestation efforts present an immediate benefit to the local population.
By employing local villagers for the replanting effort, communities see an instant improvement in living quality.
With a steady income, impoverished villagers can begin to afford daily necessities such as food, shelter, and medicine.
In the long run, reforested areas restore animal habitats and local rainfall patterns.
As trees grab hold, they prevent flooding and erosion. This leads to increased crop yield and stabilizes local farms.
When our efforts take root, we build a virtuous cycle for these communities and the environments they inhabit.
